Default which shocks to go with

I want to replace the shocks on my 2005 sportster 1200 custom with some progressive rear shocks, however, unsure which ones to choose. the 600.00 air shocks are not an option. I always ride solo and never allow passengers on my bike. I plan on doing some longer rides, however, not a lot of luggage to carry too much stuff. I'm a larger guy, even after losing over 50 lbs (yeah) still over the 225 mark. i was thinking of the heavy duty for sure, but the different models numbers are confusing.

Default Re: which shocks to go with

Progressive shocks are a good choice. The 412's are the best value/performance combo. I have these on my bike and is way better than stock. If I had the money, I would get the 430's in black. Works Performance also makes good shocks. Also, if you can, I would swap out the stock fork springs with progressive springs. Makes a huge difference in handling and prevents bottoming out better than stock.
