Last year AIM had a featured Sportster that had been built up like a 70's Cal Rayborn kinda road racer. I believe it had one of what was reported to be the first of the production 100" S&S engines. I think he had to go with some different tranny stuff to make it work. He said it was "too much" and scary and he had sold it by the time the mag hit the press. It took some pretty big bucks to do the whole build but a lot of that was in the custom trick bodywork and other stuff.

Big Sportster engines have been around for a long time in a lot drag bikes. I wonder if S&S did actually ever put that 100"er into production. You'll have to call them to find out.

Ed

Aug. '08 AIM. He had to go with an early model trans and maybe some other stuff. Stock frame but maybe had to mod the upper mounts to accomodate the longer jugs but I'm just guessing on that. I'd call S&S and see what they have to say. I'm a big fan of fire breathing Sportsters.

Good Luck Dude

I could not find any info about building a 89 or 100 S&S. The only folks I did not ask were S&S.
