Question XLH1200C or XL1200C ??

Iwas looking in J&P for 412 Progressive shock and only fitment for 2005 I can find is for 1996-2005 XLH1200C. Mine is a 2005 XL1200C. Is there a difference or does anyone have the proper part #?

Why don't you just go to the Progressive website? Catolog may have been a misprint or something. Did you also notice that you may have to ''notch" your belt guard for new shocks?

Yes on the rootbeer float!! Don't forget that those shocks come in two ratings, one for rider/gear totaling under 225lbs., the other rider/gear over 225lbs. Ask if the wrench required to change settings is included, unlike our H-D's

Yeah, I'm sure I'll need the heavy duty ones. I'm close to 300 myself. I found the listing for my ride on the progressive site. How much notching is needed?

Where I've seen it mentioned it doesn't say how much. I think it's just a " heads up" that you may need to shift/shimmy for proper clearance.
