Talk about dreaming!!!! My high school shop teachers' daily driver was a 68 GT500KR. Our shop project was a 66 Mustang that he somehow fit a 427 SOHC into . Ever seen one of those in person?? Valve covers made a Hemi look like a small block. Have fun with the car, it's only money

I was going to say I dig the scoot, but lets see some more pics of that fastback in the background. Harleys and Mustangs....gotta love 'em both!

Well, you ain't gonna like the Mustang. Until recently, it would have been considered not worth the trouble. But my understanding is that it's now rare enough to do it. I think I'm going to have to brace it in six directions, then cut a huge bunch off the bottom all at once. As long as I can reference where it all fits back...
It's nice you're interested.

Third pic is my main project, the Triumph. At this distance not to bad looking, until you get a little closer. It's now in teeny little re-chromed, polished pieces. Gotta huge assembly issue, as all the fasteners (7 pounds, 150 pieces) were messed up in a re-plating fiasco.

Welcome and enjoy the new bike!

That's a fastback you've got there....the Sportsroof didn't arrive until '69.

Here's a pic of my '65. Sold it a few years ago. Had a pretty stout 331 stroker in it. AFR heads, custom cam.....lots of goodies.

I know the drill on on Mustangs.....you'll have fun!

Dang, that is dropdead georgeous, Mstngjoe. I'm going to have to put your name in my reference file. Maybe I will have to ask you to bail me out some day. I stand corrected on the sportsroof name. Now, where did I get that idea?

I hope for your sake yours didn't start off as bad looking as mine.

Thanks
Jim

Beartooth, looks like a lot of cancer there. Good thing is you can find every piece and part there is on a mustang. Lot's of catalogs out there. My son and I had a 1968 GT we rebuilt. Origionally had a 390 in it but we rebuilt the 351C it had in it when we got it. Put detroits in the rear, it would definitely scoot.

Thanks Jim! The car was really fun.

Lots of mods to the drive train. The body and interior were solid when I got. Had the car about 10 years. It dynoed about 330hp to the rear wheels when I was done.

Reach out anytime you want....glad to help if I can. As was mentioned, all the parts are available these days....you just supply the time and the $$$!

Couple more pics.

Re: Old Dude, First Harley
Sounds like we may be twins separated at birth. I'll be 69 in May. I started with a Kawasaki 500 Triple. Then a Triumph 650 Bonneville. I haven't owned a bike in about 30 years. I just bought my first Harley. A Sportster 1200C. Best wishes and good luck with you new ride. Regards Bob
