Default Piaa mini hid spots on an 02' xl883

You can tell the weathers getting better, spending more time in my garage.

Another question from the technically inept:

These were fitted to my 1200C, wired direct to the battery, this resulted in flat battery when left. The light switch has a tiny green led light and plus having this and the alarm on, killed the battery in no time at all.

I've decided to remove the lights and fit them to my 02'XL883.

The spots are fitted, no problem.

Again the wiring leaves me cold....

2 wires to each of the lights no problem.

Running the the harness thru the tank, no problem.

Black wire to the negative battery terminal, no problem.

The problem is that the white wire with the fuse cartridge runs to the battery - Dont want this. This will discharge the battery.

There is a relay which plugs into the main harness from which the white wire with the fuse cart is attached. There is also a black and white wire which terminates into a socket, into which the switch lead is plugged.

From the above socket another white wire which is designated 'switch control positive' doesnt seem to go anywhere.

All I want to do is wire the spots so the they can be switched on independantly and into the headlight so the spots switch off when main beam in switched on...

Any ideas of which coloured wire to attach the white wire marked switch control positive to power up the lights?

One concern I have is the white wire with the fuse, if the white wire for the switch control positive is wired to the headlight wire, do I need to connect the white lead with the fuse holder to the battery as well? If I dont need to connect this if power is coming from the switch, how is is protected (fused)?

Bloody hell, I know what I mean, does anyone else...
