Default History

Hi All

I am in Ireland and have a 1986 FLSTC that was first registered in the USA. As it must be one of the first of this model, I was wondering if it would be possible to trace its history. Also, would it be possible to find out exatly when it was manufactured and how many were produced before it. It is in fairly original condition. I have posted pictures of it on this site under Bikes, using my name, TC. My 1986 Heritage Softail.

I can of course give the full vin number.

Thanks for any info I might receive.

Tony.

Hope that this is of some help to you; H-D itself, as a customer service, does provide VIN verification in house but the records only go back to somewhere around 60-62 so, any success you might enjoy would depend largely on the model year of your vehicle. This will provide you with the original purchaser of the vehicle and that of any subsequent ownership.

If it is a complete history of ownership that you want, Google carfax , autocheck or just the generic VIN history as a keyword search.

Ask for a VIN verification. Good luck...

Sorry about that....That should have read "and NOTthat of any subsequent ownership.''

I left out a single word and reversed the entire meaning.

Welcome TC, I have an '87 FLST. The VIN is a good place to start. Check your owner's and/or service manual. It will give you a VIN explanation which will verify your exact model, sequence number, and year of build. My bike has a plate on the upperside of the left fork tube stating a build date of June of 87.

Hope this helps.

Rick
