Hi bud

I'm guessing it is a Hydraulic cam and lifters, yes..???

I have 3 big hydraulic cams and lifters and to my ears they all make a heck of a racket.. My one solid/mechanical cam/lifters are actually quieter..

If you trust the shop then let it go and just listen for an un-even change or an increasingly louder tapping..
Most likely however, they're OK..

If you don't know how to adjust your motor valves/lifters you should learn..
That way you will be sure of the job..

Remember,, you are your motorsickles best and most important mechanic..

Even though this is a fairly generic question it is a good idea, the next time you make an inquiry, to state what sickle/year/model etc..

most of the time when the pushrods are correctly adjusted, and there is still some sound, i have found it is an improperly fitted pinion gear. i like to run them on the tite side.

i check them when i shim the cam. slight drag in and out and no rotational movement

also make shure your cam is shimmed properly .010 +/- .002

special note!!!! i have replaced 11 sets of lifters in as many bikes after bike week on average................DO NOT TRAILER YOUR BIKE IN GEAR! when you do, and the bike moves so does your engine componants, and the lifters take the hit, x amount of miles with no oil pressure = dead lifters

RUNT

Hmmm

I've heard a lot of weird theories but that's one of the best..
Dead lifters from being trailered in gear..???????

How far do you think those sickles are moving while being trailered Runt.?

While tied down on a trailer how the heck does a sickle move..??

And even if one did move a bit there is no "hit" to the motor parts,,,, just plain silly..
What----- do you think we're stupid or something..??

Even if there was a "hit" to the motor components, well ah, let me see, isn't the oil pump a motor component..??
Soooo, if there is enough movement to put the lifters in motion there is enough motion to creat oil pressure from the pump.. Jeeeeezez..!!!!
Just when I thought I've heard it all..

The only dead lifters here are the phoney bikers that trailer a sickle to a function..

Default Dead lifters

Need to keep this quiet (pun intended)

Lifter deaths from TrailerWeek could get serious. If Volusia County finds out there will be a dead lifter disposal fee. If Daytona finds out we won`t be able to bury them and hold a funeral at Boot Hill.

If the media finds out I can here it now ! Three bikers and 27 lifters were killed at TrailerWeek. The bikers fell over after passing out in front of a strip club. None of the lifters were wearing a helmet !
