Default cam choice

hi guys, i am new to this forum, i have a ? about what cam i should run in my bike. i bought my motor used, from a guy that had a turbo on it. before i got it . it had been freshened up. it has edelbrock heads crane hi 4 single fire ignition, stock comp. pistons. and has a cam that i am not really impressed with, all i know about the cam is that it has a real long duration. my bike is aflstc , and i do mostly 2 up riding. and me and my ole lady are not light weights, so can you recomend a cam? i was thinkig about an andrews ev27, or maybe a ev13. what would you suggest. thanks.

I think you wont go far wrong with a EV27, I have a EV23, not sure of the difference between the two, but I got mine at a good price (mate works at the Harley shop, and it was on the shelf) and it seems pretty good for what I want, I do mostly two up on a 97 WideGlide. My main concern was getting the cam bearing swapped to a torrington.

I have used an EV27 in an e-glide and have put them in a few other models also. It's a great cam for an 80 inch EVO. Works well with head work to, you couldn't do better. The spec.s on that cam are almost identical to the cam Harley uses in there EVO stage 2 kit.

I just put a EV23 in my flhtc and it makes nice power but the EV27 might be better for two up riding you get a little more volume into the jugs. Since we're talking cams make sure you get the clearence right and I would replace the breather with a better one than stock. I didn't and now we're re-opening the engine to stick a S&S reed breather in, seems mine crapped out.

Bulldog, though the EV27 is a decent mild cam you may want to try a Bob Wood Night Prowler W-6 in your FLH. Still considered a mild cam but with great torque through then entire range. Draggin, how did that S&S breather work out for you?
