Don't know much on the value part but it seem u feel like it is the right bike for u, go for it.

I bought my 2003 FXDX T-Sport 7/10/08 with 1,732 miles I am at over 5,000 miles and I paid $12,500.00 but I looks great and I have not had any problems with it.

Seems a little steep compared to the prices I've been seeing lately,I would think 8 would be more than fair, but thats just me.

If that bike is still available, try and make a little better deal, but buy it. It sounds to me as if thats the bike for you, go for it.....

Well, a deal was struck and the Heritage is in the garage. The rear lowering kit is ordered. I am looking for a used set of true duals. Now all I need is some warmer weather.

Hi,Haugster
Congrats...looks like you got yourself a NICE scooter at a reasonable price.

Yeah, and, since I don't recall that model ever coming with a cross-over exhaust system I just thought I'd mention (in case you're not aware) that you're probabley going to run into 2 obstacles with installing a tru-dual set up on it. #1.) is that you'll need the mounting brackets for both sides, that're a lot different than what came on the one side...and,#2.) is that you'll need a shifter rod for something like a Evo Heritage (FL) Springer that's bent/shaped to clear the L. header pipe.

Neither of those are major problems...if I'm even correct here...just something else to consider (if you have'nt already) before you purchase the pipes & mufflers.

Enjoy your rides......ya done good !!

Thanks for the info. I found out today that the brackets are a little pricey. I called a local Harley shop and they had a used set of true duals. The parts guy told me that the set up was nice but needed the L and R brackets and that they were $65.00 each. This added to what you have stated above I think I'll just stay with the factory exhaust and put on the Screaming Eagle slip fits. This way I can take the baffles in and out as I want. Thanks again.
