Default What kind of paint is on a 1995 Heritage?

What kind of paint is on a stock 1995 Heritage? I am assuming it is base coat clear coat. Before I lowered the bike my heel put some scuff marks on the top of the rear fender and I want to remove them correctly.
I am so glad I bought this bike. It runs, sounds and feels like a Harley. Before I lowered it, it rode better than anything I had ever been on. The ride is better than by Shovel, even after lowering it 2" in the rear. Years ago I said I would never have a windshield or bags on my bike. So,I put the windshield on and I really like it. I still get a lot of wind, minus the bugs. I put the bags on and I like them as well.

Yes the paint will be a two stage base/clear.
Depending if the scratch is through the clear then you can buff it out.
Usually a scratch in the clear will be a white while deeper scratches in the color will be the color.
If you can catch your fingernail on it it’s pretty deep.
Try a scratch and swirl remover first (polish)
If that does not take it out then try a rubbing compound, then the polish.
If you start getting color on the buffer, rag, then you are through the clear coat and it will need another coat of clear.
