Default Cruise control 98 FLTRI

Hi Folks
My Road Glide (FLTRI) has all the components for cruise except the module and cable. The 98 Ultra came stock with it, PN 70955-98c the PN for the Road Glide is 70989-98c. My question is, what is the difference between these PNs and are they interchangeable. The reason I'm asking is that I have found a deal on the kit with the 70955-98 PN. Anyone have some insight?

Not sure but I suspect it may cable length and/or VSS output interpretation. My 2002 Road Kings module has a pn# of 70955-98B

Tobin

I have researched this to some degree because i have been wanting to install the HD electronic cruise on my V-Rod bagger conversion.

I originally thought they all used the same module. What i found was that the one on my 94 Ultra got its pulse input from an output of the cable operated speedo. I purchased a 98 module from EBAY and found out it wouldn't work after talking to the owner of Cruisemount who makes plug and play HD cruise controls for the Dyna models because the VSS output from 98 to 2003 was different. 2004 to pre throttle by wire had a different input from the VSS.

I would suspect that the modules for 98 are the same but the cable as RusyG said may be the difference between the FLT and FLH. i think that the cables are all the same where they fit into the module the module.

My local HD dealer is a good friend but he couldn't help much with the various cruise P/N's vs years when i started to research this.

The guy i talked to at cruise mount harley davidson motorcycle cruise control was really helpful but again he didn't offer a unit for the Vrod and was interested in what i came up with. Might give him a call and see if he can help if you cant get the answer you need.

thats my 2 cents.

What all this means is over the years the pulse input for the module can come from different sources.
