That's what's so predictable about you, Frisco-Limp. If you don't like it, it's no damn good for anybody. It's obvious you're talking out your a$$ on this one, having admitted you've never even done anything like this. Just too simple for ya, ain't it. You've never done it, and you have no damn clue. So criticize and condemn me! Hahahaha!
So you just keep on spraying your chemicals and know in your puny little mind that you're right! And everyone else is wrong!
Tsk tsk tsk..... small man.

Is that how you back-up your position and make your point .? Accuse me of criticizm and attacking your method ..??

I guess that means you Didn't find any Manual or Q & A or Forum, Tech Article or Website to suggest any other way to check for intake leaks Other than spray, Geeeee, too bad..
However, the old OEM PanHead Manual says to grease the "Plumbers Fittings" and watch for smoke but it's Not quite the same as pressurizing the Intake huh........

Now let's switch gears..
This is the second time you've accused me of Intolerance of other opinions, criticizm and condemnation of you,, name calling,, general degradation of you & others and that everyone else is wrong if I don't like something..
The first time was in the "Mounting Own Tires" thread,, in the last post..

It's time for You to Prove those accusations..
What did I write that made you feel Soooo criticized..???
I even said I Didn't want to dis-courage others from trying your method..

The fact is this--
If I was even Nearly as Intolerant, critical, condemming & degrading as you accuse me of being, Adiminstrator Mike woulda banned me years ago..
I wonder what Admin Mike thinks of all this..

I`ve been a jet engine mechanic for 35 years, whenever we assemble a bearing compartment a leak check is performed on the mating parts by pressurizing the compartment with air or nitrogen, and spraying leak-chek fluid on the mating surfaces. This is also the method used for checking fuel manifolds for leaks.

It is a very reliable method of detecting leaks.

The first trick I was taught over 40 years ago was to spray starting fluid (WD-40 wasn't around then where I lived) around the base of the carb or any other area for leaks on the intake, and it has worked every time. The other surely might work, but the other will also and not near the hassle.

I've used starting fluid for decades now too. Yeah, and, I guarantee that if that does'nt find a leak there is'nt one, big enough to effect the way your bike runs. But although I've never had a bad experience with it I think it best to remind others to be CAREFUL with the stuff.

Look for the cans that come with a little tube like WD-40 does...so you can aim it. And keep in mind that all it takes is a little of it's vapor to detect a leak...as in short/quick shots (not wet coats) at one area at a time...best done on warm NOT HOT engines AWAY from anything that glows or sparks... with parental supervision etc,etc,etc.....

HIGHLY FLAMMABLE !!!

I didn't mean to touch off a fire storm here... I feel very badly that in asking you guys for your insight and opinions I've caused insults to fly.

Humble bow and apologies,

Kempo
