kempo,

just a suggestion and statement,... if you think and feel buy the seat of your pants that you have an intake leak than you probably do.
so, to put your mind at ease, just go buy the parts, take off the air cleaner
and carb and replace the seals. period. fixed. no more arguing on post.makes you more comfortable with your bike. while you have carb off, fully dissasemble and clean..(rebuild) carb and put it all back together. adjust and done. if its wasnt the problem now you now you have to look elsewhere because you just eliminated carb and intake seals and when you do solve the problem you now have the confidence that you have new intake seals and rebuilt carb and wont worry about flogging the hell out of your bike. ride it and enjoy!!!
glad to see you picked an evo, i love mine and wouldnt trade it for the world.
maybe will change out cases someday and create a monster out of it, who knows. anyhow, enjoy!!!! Wideglidebill.

hmm interesting , and not having an answer ill reply in traditional qoute ,
" its just a harley thing " ( and no hourly charge, free) and because it's a harley thing ,
" screw it lets just ride " which explains the origin of the first qoute.
sorry , couldnt help myself , good luck - someone in here has been there / done that , the answer will pop up in the mail.

Harold, please allow me to compliment on your well thought out and articulate response to my post. I am sure it took considerable thought and time on your part to come up with this very knowledgable response.

Thank you,

Kempo

The good words are the easy part -- drinking your whiskey could be interesting
