Default Mpg

For those of you who don't know me... I have a 95 FLHTC with about a million miles on it. I was wondering what carb'd MPG that others are getting. I realize that there are a lot of variables to the answer. Just curious.

Thanks,

Kempo

Hi kempo, on my 85 Evo, a little lighter than your bike, at 65 mph turning 3000 rpm I can get 46 mpg US.

I have a 01 twin Cam 88 Electra Glide Classic. I get 41-43 Interstate riding. maybe a little better back roads. Not an Evo but I think they get about the same..Evos maybe a touch better..

On my Evo bike... it is a 2004 BMC "factory custom" with a 100 Cu In.motor 6-speed and a Mik-45 Carb...I can get as high as 45 mpg, or if I 'play' it drops to 25 mpg.

But then I have a Fuel Infected bike that can get from 32 mpg when I play, to as high as 47 mpg...and that was with me-the wife-and all our gear for a week loaded on back!!!! but that's not a carb bike so it dont count

Hey Kempo

Our deep-breathing 1986 Evo 80" with 45mm Mik gets about 46 Mpg..

The Evo 120" with 48mm Mik get's 42+ Mpg..

The Evo 127" with 48mm Mik get's 37 Mpg..

This is all 50% hi-way and 50% city..

Long roads to far places increase it 3 to 5 Mpg..

For comparison,, the 93" shovel with 45mm Mik gets 46+ at 50% - 50% riding..

I think you'll find that in most v-twins. Mid 30s to mid 40s is normal for average MPG.

That sounds great!!! got pictures??? I gotta see that...

I want to do a dual carb, only put one carb on each side.... I got to see one in Laughlin this year, but I think it had dual carbs on each side!!!!! I saw that set up in Custom Chrome a couple years ago... but it is now discontinued...no one probly bought it. the cost was over $3200, for intakes and 2-duals carbs...
