Question want loud & performance

Hey,got a 94`heritage flstn.I want LAF but I don`t want to sacrifice horse power & performance kind of going towards shotguns but guys tell me short drags are the way to go for loud! But other guys tell me longer is louder and you don`t lose performance and hp. Just don`t want to make the big buy and not be happy if ya know what I mean!!! A little help from someone who been there and done that!!!

Hey JC.

Had cycle shack 40" drag pipes on my 91 evo up until last year. Loud as hell. They kill power unless your running wide open throttle. They are super cheap and the finish never crapped out in 15 years. Switched to Cycle Shack "M" 40" drag pipes past year. Still loud but dont have that ear deafening rap to them. Had bike dyno'ed before and after new pipes gained a few ponies. Very happy with them. You can spend a fortune on V&H, Hooker, etc. But do some research, you will find these pipes keep up with the best of them. My buddy who has a 93 Heritage swore he would never ever ditch his drap pipes for muffler pipes but after hearing mine he did. He too gained a few ponies in the switch. 2-1 is another option but that wouldnt like right on a Heritage in my opinion. Hey good luck. Im sure other have more info to help you decide. Botz

Have a look at SuperTrapp. Loud and powerful.

My buddy has a 2 into 1 D&D Boarzilla on his '07 CVO Glide. There IS nothing louder than that pipe. We can't even talk to each other at a stop light unless he shuts it off. It's louder than my old Thunderheader by quite a bit. Totally obnoxious and it makes great power - one of the top HP makers. Sounds like an open header big block. You'll get noticed by everyone with blue lights.

Sounds Uh..........wonderful. I don't need to lose what little hearing I've got left. Or what few rights we have left. I haven't gotten the cash together yet but in my opinion the Supertrapp is the best way to go. The kids can tune it to be totally obnoxious and those of us wise enough to know that you can get power without excessive noise can tune it to be reasonably quiet.

I have Thunderheaders (2 into1) on one of my bikes. Love the sound and the performance. Make sure your air intake matches your output though. Might consider a Stage 1 air with 2 into 1's!

a 2 into 1 will be loud as hell and they are great performing pipes as well, they allow a real fast flow yet still have "scavenging" properties. 2 into 1's give a nice mid -low end bump and a bit up top too, great streetability. This is why all the factory pipes have gone to 2-1 or more yet 2 into 1 into 2, they make great all around smooth power. However if you don't like that look then I got nothin' else for ya! LOL
