Default BUB Sevens Anyone?

We are planning on installing a set of the new BUB Seven exhausts on a bike soon to see how they perform.

Anyone on the forum have any experience with them?

The Sevens are supposed to be excellent performers but not too loud.

Buzz, I installed the Bub Seven True Dual (w/o crossover) on the Bagger I just built. I've only ran the bike a couple of miles. I'm waiting for the paper work to get a title here in Virginia. Preliminary operation indicates a smooth power band up to about 3500 rpm (haven't ran harder). I've noticed no hesitation spots.
I'm expecting the title application to be back anytime, and I'll be putting the miles on then to get the motor broken in.
The bike is a Rolling Thunder 200mm Bagger frame, HD hardbags and fairing, rest custom. Motor is S&S T124" Single Bore Fuel Injected, with closed loop VFI ECU. The wiring harness is from a 2004 FLHTC. Bub Sevens for this configuration were backordered until last month.

Installation on a stock bike may be easier than what I experienced. The Rolling Thunder frame is 1/2 wider than stock and required modifying the mufflers to clear the axle. I had to also shim out the transmission mount and cut out the heat shield to clear the rear brake lever.

Buzz, I just installed a set of Bub 7'S Slip-On's, on my 07 Ultra Classic and took a quick ride today and they sound "great" Before I purchased them I contact Bob Collier at Bub and ask him just how loud are they and do they exceed 100 DB's.

Here is his reply

You would really have to wind the bike out before it went over 100 DB’s.

The full system is around 87 DB at idle and 97 at 2500 RPM. The slip-on mufflers will be quieter than the full system.

Regards

Robert Collier

Have a little over 100 miles on the new motor. Bubs are much quieter than I anticipated . I'm running an S&S closed loop fuel injection and have noticed no low spots in the tuning. Max rpm to date has about 3600 with no heavy roll-ons. Cruising at 2000-2400 and accelerating does not reveal any seat of the pants dip in torque or note any hesitation.

Are the BUB Sevens quieter than the Rhineharts?
