What?? Swing-Arm?? U can't do that. Needs to mount to Frame (something stationary) as not to flex.

I knew I shoulda replied to your first question about this.. I was going to tell you that you are entering the world of custom modification..

As you stated, the motor is rubber mount so you must mount the pipes in a way that they are able to move in unison with the motor such as the stock mount that is on the sickle currently.. You said it was on the tranny and you don't see a way to mount it there,, but since you are now in that wonderful world of custom applications, YOU gotta figure out what to do.. I have to do it all the time cuz I've never built a stock sickle soo now it's your turn..
You may have to cut and drill and weld a bracket with some sort of large rubber grommet that allows the movement and you will prob have to find a new diff location to mount it all.. I really applaud and respect your willingness to tackle this.. Soo, get out the oxy-actylene or hacksaw and files, drills and drill-motor and engage the brain.. Yeah baby..!!

I read this yesterday. I had a chuckle thinking of the exhaust moving up and down with the swing arm. Then I chuckled more when I seen the exhaust looking like some sort of metal flex pipe.

Frisco is correct. ITs now time for you to play.

I had a problem when I put on my Vance/Hines exhaust. The exhaust kept on binding due to the movement of the rubber mount motor. The header nuts kept backing off.

I modified the bracket given to me by Vance/Hines. I used the dremmel and ran to the hardware store. Some spacers and rubber grommets fixed the problem.

Look at the old bracket. See what it was attached to. Make one that will work with the new pipes if you did not break em too bad. I hope you only broke a bracket. PIpes are spendy

If its stationary why does it keep breaking. Where is it breaking? Just curious.

Wasn't implying you were "New-Born".......
OK Joe,, now you've give more info about the "stationary" mount..

Your motor is rubber mount right, that's what you stated,, OK, it's prob OK mounted to the swing arm pivot but it's still gotta be flexible to move with the motion of the motor..
I want to hear more from you, what are you gonna do next..??

I assume by "softail exhaust" you are reffering to shotgun pipes. If it's so, why don't you have a close look at how the FXD's exhaust bracket is mounted. Same family, rubber mounted motor....

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.
