I put V&H true duels on my 01 Fatboy (fuel injection, S&S 510 gear drive cams, Ness Big Sucker II intake). The pipes were great looking and pretty loud even with the "quiet" optional baffles. I had the bike setup on the dyno and manages\d about 67 horsepower. The sound got pretty tiring on long rides so I finally sold the pipes and bought the H-D Springer Heritage headpipe kit along with SE mufflers. I had my guys put the bike back on the dyno and it now puts out 74 horsepower and is much quieter and still has the "dual" exhaust look that I was after. I contacted V&H before making the switch and the tech guy indicated that the true duel system in not designed for big horsepower gains. SO, if you like noise but don't care too much for additional umph, the V&H system works okay and looks good too. I prefer the extra push in the back I'm getting from the H-D system.

for pretty looks and all that stuff you cant beat a two into two system, but for a great running bike id go two into one or at least something free flowing with a crossover, each cylinder helps push the others exhaust pulse out of the pipe, thunderheaders have got this down pat, maybe try an anti reversion cone on the exhuast port if youre gonna try a true dual system?

True D-U-A-L-S.

A D-U-E-L, if I'm not mistaken is when two people settled an argument by both being issued a gun, stood back to back, took 10 paces, turned and shot at each other.
