Default Are V&H short shots equal length pipes???

I am looking at buying a 95 Heritage that has V&H short shots. These are the pipes that are cut straight and end flush with each other. The rear pipe looks shorter than the front. Does anyone know if these pipes are equal length?? There are a lot of exhaust systems that have the rear pipe shorter than the front which is bad for motor performance and also looks stupid, in my opinion. If the V&H short shots are equal length I might keep them, if not they will be sold. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have thought about the hacksaw. I'd make the front pipe the same length as the rear, reattach the end cap and have equal length pipes. That is if the end caps come off. More than likely I will put on a set of true duals, of equal length, with fishtails.

Hey,Guys
I think it's worth noting here that your exhaust pipes don't necessarily have to be equal length,to get equal results. Because (over my head) different bends etc in them (front & rear) can equal things out.

I have heard something about that. each bend is a percentage of efficiency lost..... something like 10% loss for a 90* bend or something....

hmmmmm

Hi,Psycho
As mentioned in my post a lot of that stuff is over my head...but, it's my understanding that the right bends in the right places, etc, can actually work FOR you as far as getting the exhaust pulses/sound waves timed just right,to do their job...kind of like baffles and muffler configurations, etc,do

They're not equal. The only ones that I know of, are Bassani Pro Streets.

I had V&H Shot Shots on my Wide Glide for a week. Couldn't stand them.
