Question Samson

Hey guys (and gals) I was thinking of adding Samson exhaust to my 08 Fatboy. Something like the Hell Raisers in Ceramic black. Just wondering what some thoughts were on it.
Thanks

Hi Desert

Almost anything is better than stock.. All the exhaust makers have the same knowledge and can do only sooo much with muff designs/efficiency..
It would be a real good idea for Everyone interested in changing systems to research a wee bit about Exhaust and how it works.. NOT going to Manufacturers websites and reading their Hype but actually reading about how exhaust works.. Then you'll see what I mean..

If your exhaust is one piece you will have to buy a whole new system however if your exhaust has slip-on muffs you can easily swap whatever Other slip-on muffs you buy,,,,, that is, of course, waaay cheaper too..
The free-flowing muffs that are made by every manuf will give you much better perfomance,,,, I've used Cycle Shack & KromeWerks many times cuz there's simply no reason to spend alot more for a Boutique name..

I have done this several times-----with One piece exhaust systems you can cut off the muffs, dress up the cut end of the header pipe and then slip-on new muffs.. You can do this easily with 1 3/4" header pipes which is what I am confident your OEM headers are..

That is a very good way to go cuz headers are just headers, nothing magical about them.. They should be of equal length and 1 3/4" OD..
