Default Pipes 2008 FXDC

I have 2008 FXDC.Looking at pipes.V&H big shots dont look like they allow enough room to check oil when hot?How about V&H slip ons?Thunderheader does fit good and can check oil easily.Confusing,I dont want any hardship just checking the oil.Rhinehart Lakesters fit good but I want to see and hear a set before I buy.ANY Suggestions or advice?

Hi KC

There is nothing magical about header pipes.. They are just headers, that's all.. Curves and chrome and Boutique names mean nothing..
However,,,If they are toooo short or toooo long or toooo fat or Not matched length they can destroy your perfomance..

If you currently run OEM headers you can be fairly confident they are close to correct length etc, and if they don't restrict checking oil and you have No other gripes with them---- getting slip-ons could be a good idea..

The only headers that I have heard of that apparently do allow more perf are the Rhinehart Stepped headers,,,, however I have No experience with them..
I am not aware of why the Stepping supposedly works..

Definitely look at the Rinehart systems. Check them out on youtube. Well worth your time to do so.
