Question Black Vance & Hines Short Shots

I am thinking of swapping out my stock exhaust on a 2008 Street Bob. I like the look of the black V & H Short Shots and I'm trying to find customer reviews on these pipes. The only one I found so far was not very positive siting lost performance. I'm not very knowledgeable in the nature of mechanics especially engine/exhaust performance. If these pipes do drop performance compared to the stock pipes but it's not very noticable then I will buy them, if it is very noticable then I need other suggestions.

I've never heard of pipes decreasing (losing) power. Are you going to a high flow filter and re-mapping at the same time or in the near future? Even if you're not, you probably wouldn't notice any significant(seat of the pants) .change in power with only pipe change.

For right now I am only interested in the looks and sound of the V&N pipes.

I just recently went with short shots and a big sucker.

Sounds better, It's on a Springer Classic with the jillion pound and zero decibel stock exhaust....

Seat of pants, snappier, and I get 10+ mph increase on certain short road sections.

Hey Infatillary, you're welcome for the input. I'm lucky as my 05 is still a carb bike and re-jetting is alot less expensive and quicker to do. A lot of people on this site will guide you in the right direction when you're ready to pull the trigger, just say when!

Thanks for the info. I'm still looking at other brands but I will most likely go with the V&H black short shots staggered once I get back from deployment.
