I think most of the Harley slip-on's are fairly quiet now of days. Rush 2" slip-on's are plenty loud in my opinion, in fact I ordered 1.5" baffles and quieted them down..I worked around excessive noise for 32 + years and don't enjoy things really loud like I did at 16.

What style of slip ons did you use? The slash cut have/had a removeable baffle. I think some of the slip ons for TwinCams have the baffles welded so they can't be removed. I just put a set of new old stock slash cut slip ons on my 95 Heritage. I left the baffles in and it sound real good. Loud but not too loud. I will take out the baffles some day just to hear it really bark. Also, the baffles could be taken out, altered, and put back in to get more sound. Just my 2 cents.

There's an advertisement in AIM for a place called Thunder City (I think??) that sells baffles for S/E slip-ons, might be worth checking out. I have the S/E II's on my bike and like the sound

Slash cut but haven't taken the baffles out yet. I am looking for replacements to try and may be doing some cutt-en and drill-en on the existing ones.

Harley stopped selling the SEII race mufflers a couple years ago.
If you want louder you have to go to the aftermarket or modify what you have.

I bought a set for my 04 1200XLC. Neighbors hated them and so did I. Too loud and a big hole in mid range. Original baffles were much quieter and linear on the power curve. The Thunder City baffles are in a box in my atic.

I just adjusted the opening of the baffles in my slash cuts. I had to pull out one of the baffles to see how they are made and if I could modify them easily. The baffle is basically closed from the factory so I opened it up about 3/4 of an inch by hammering a tapered piece of rebar into the area that can be adjusted/bent and I marked the rebar after doing the first baffle so I could adjust the second baffle the same. I did this while the mufflers and baffles were mounted on the bike. I got a real good sound and I notice no power loss.
