Rush 1.5", 8,500 miles and the chrome looks like new. The sound is great to my ears. Power difference: I don't know how much is on account of the mufflers since I changed cams, air cleaner and installed a Power Commander as well.

All,
Thanks for your responses; I elected to go with the Rush w/2" baffles. I installed a Stage I A/C and a Cobra Fi2000R O2 fuel management system. A remarkable improvement in performance but the main thing is the engine runs much, much cooler - especially the back cylinder. I didn't realize how much the factory A/F ratio and the stock muffs had the thing choked down; now that it can breathe properly, it sounds and runs like a scoot should (with an otherwise stock motor) with the usual shift point at 4,000 rpm. I'm still tweaking and fine tuning the fuel management (based on mpg and performance, popping on decel, etc.) without the use of the dealer's dyno or remapping - trying to save my nickels, ya know?

Sounds like you both did a nice slip on muffler with no remap/aftermarket tuner. Both happy with the results?

I'm glad you're happy with the results, Scruffy. Just wait till you put a better cam in there...it will really come alive. I noticed a very good reduction in heat as well, some from richer fuel mixture, some from longer duration / higher lift cams, and definitely some from free flowing exhaust.

Expand your choices. Take a look at the Rinehart's. Excellent quality and sound, with a deep throaty tone all it's own. Pricey yes, but remember, you get what you pay for. Listen to them on youtube.

Neither. I bought Samson Silver Bullet 29" slashers (slash down) slip-ons for my '06 Road King Classic. Wasn't satisfied with that. Put on a Cobra FI200R. Things got better and that stopped the popping on decel. Still wasn't satisfied. Bought Vance and Hines true duals to go with my Samson mufflers and a screamin' eagle air filter. Got more sound that's not obnoxious and more power. Now we're talkin!

Here are the numbers from the baseline dyno I had done today. No tuning or other mods. Khrome Werks HP+ slip-ons (blue line) vs. Rush 2.0 slip-ons (red line)

Same dyno & operator.

I am happy with mine. It feels like it has more power and is more responsive. Since these engines are restricted to satisfy the EPA, when you make these kinds of changes you enable the bike to perform at its full, or at least improved, potential. I think one reason for an aftermarket fuel management system is that it is an alternative to a download from HD.

Scruffy, are you happy with the fi2000, adjustability and performance, and would you buy it again?
How's the weather treating you?
