Default Rush vs Cobra slip-on muffs?

Who has a story to tell about their experience with Rush or Cobra slip-on muffs? I'm getting ready to plunk down the coins and install a set of one or the other (along with a fuel management system and Stage I A/C) and I'd appreciate anyone's opinion based on their own use. Chrome hold up well? Blueing? I'm having a tough time deciding on which one to go with.

Thanks,
Scruffy Pup

I put some Rush 2.0 on my '07 Softail. The sound was "ok"....better than the stockers.

But I wasn't happy with the chrome on one of them. First time I put some polish on (Mother's Chrome Polish) it "hazed" up with what appeared to be very fine scratches. It only did it to one of the mufflers so it was obvious to me the plating process on that one was defective. No sympathy from Rush......actually blamed me for it.

Changed to Khrome Werks HP+ and I'm much happier with the sound (deeper) and the chrome finish (excellent).

I know a few guys including the master tech at the dealer that swear by Rush pipes. My bud with a 09 SG just put on a set of 2" slip ons with his stage one. his dealership dyno guy told him he F'ed up by not using the 1 7/8"s but my bud wanted deeper sound over the possible loss of 2 hp. Sounded similar to rhineharts

The tech at my dealer has a complete rush system and has had them for years and they still look good and sound amazing! Loud too!

I also have a set of the Khrome Werks HP+ on the EG and the chrome quality is very good Scruffy. The sound is what I had hoped for also out of 3" pipes, and now I see KW has 3.5" pipes if size matters. I mean if the size of your pipe matters...........exhaust pipe that is...........

I've got Rush on my 07 FLHTCU. They were put on before I took it off the showroom floor. Somewhere within the first 51 easy going miles the right side yellowed. The dealer replaced it but said they weren't supposed to do it. It all went well for about 2000 miles until I ran it through the gears and over 100mph. It then did the same thing. It yellowed the right side. I have since put on V&H True Duals and can't get them to color anymore.

I put on a set of rush's with the 1 3/4" baffles. Sounds good and not too loud. They were recommended by the dealer. I will upgrade to the stage 1 kit and have the fuel adjusted at my next oil change. I've run about 1k miles on them with no color changes or other problems.

I ran a pair of Rush on 08 crossbones for around 2000 miles, great sound and NO color or chrome problems.. They were the 1.75 baffles

heavyhir,
Are you still running the rush's? I really can't notice any power increases, but a few hp's probably can't be felt on general riding anyway. I read on the rush site that 5 hp can be achieved out of the box. Anyway, I'm pleased with the results. At least I can't hear the top end rattle anymore. The dealer did say that when I put on the stage 1 breather kit, the fuel computer would have to be adjusted.

Here's the before/after dyno run when I had the Rush 2.0 on the bike. No other changes were made.
