| | Performance and looks are fine. I want more sound. I'm not trying to wake the neighbors but I ride a 07 ultra and ride with a friend with a 07 ultra, his is stock. I hear his better then mind. If you want quiet their the way to go. |

| | alqaadir,
what S.E. pipes did you put on? I was interested in S.E., but my H-D dealer told me that my '07 ElectraGlide Classic is louder with the stock pipes than if I put any of the S.E. pipes. According to what you have found out, he was right. |

| | | Double check with the dealer. Some SE slip-ons are more quiet then others.
Their are alot of after market pipes out their that can be cheaper and sound better. Shop and ask. Some companies have sound bites you can listen to. |

Plus they are street legal. I don' t know how much power I picked up with just the pipes....I changed the EFI and put on a stage one air filter kit. The bike definetely feels like it has more power. I'm pleased. |

| | I know a guy who had SE's put on his '07 ultra classic, and I can't tell the difference. He's not happy.

| | Screamin Eagle (whimpering squawk) I've got a 2008 FXD and asked a service tech at my local HD dealer today about the benefit of installing S-E slip-ons... He basically said "don't bother, it's a waste of money", that there was no appreciable increase in power or improvement in sound/tone. |

| | | I had a similar experience, but the OWNER of the dealership told me not to bother with the SE slip on mufflers. Pretty upfront guy... Anyway, he steered me towards Rush slip ons, which I have on the FHLTI and the XL1200L. Love the sound and the seat-of-the-pants differences I feel. I'd recommend Rush to anyone.
