I have been looking for deal on a set of true duals for my '95 Heritage. There is a guy on eBay selling what I want however the list of bikes they fit does not include the '95 Heritage. I emailed the guy twice and both times he said he did have the true duals for the '95 nor would the ones he is selling fit the '95. Does anyone know what makes the '95 Heritage different from the other years concerning true duals? If it is just a hanger or bracket I might just buy these. But, if it is a bend in a pipe I won't even consider it. Below is a link to the eBay duals. Thanks.

Haugster, I recently bought pipes for my '87 Heritage. I do not know the difference in model years, but I do know that fitment for pre '96 bikes is tough to find. About the best I could do was to piece together something from Paughco. I was looking for an old school 2 into 1. I could not find any true duals for my '87. I actually did a 180 and went for V&H Straitshot HS pipes to keep the stock look...
J&P shows fitment on a set of V&H true duals for 1986-2006 bikes, but I would check with J&P as I have found that the fitment in their ads is not always correct.
I had a 99 heritage, had the cross over right below the carb.Took off the chrome piece covering it, cut the cross over pipe 3 inches from each end went to auto parts store bought 350 chevy freeze plugs installed in each end, reinstalled the chrome piece,TADA,true duals, they sounded great,re jet and you are done.
Yes,it worked very well. Got to keep the stock heritage look and had true duals.Traded that in for a 06 heritage in 06.Running Rinehart true duels, very happy with them too.

Thanks for the idea. I have the factory staggered duals on the bike and if I am going to buy new I will buy the true duals even though I could buy a used set of cross over duals cheaper. There is a local guy who did this to his exhaust right after he bought the Evolution powered bike. If I remember correctly he put about 20,000 miles on the bike and then bike started to lose power and smoke out of the rear cylinder. He had to do a top end job on the rear cylinder only. The crossover is there for a reason and unequal pipe length was blamed for this problem. ??? The last I heard the bike was for sale with the exhaust still with this homemade true dual set up. Did you put a lot of miles on your bike with this exhaust modification?

Yes,52,000 miles. After he made them into true duals, did he rejet???My 06 came with the cross over at the bottom of the exhaust, running rinehart true duals with power commander and dyno test. I dont know about the 87 heritage,if it has true duals now you should be good to go. Do the plug check after you install your pipes. If needed rejet.
I ran a modified stock system with the crossover since the bike was new. I was afraid I'd lose too much if I got rid of the crossover, but I always disliked the look of the exhaust. My old battery boiled over and got acid all over rear pipe, which ruined the chrome. When I installed the new V&H system, without a crossover, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the bike ran. I did not lose a thing, by my seat of the pants dyno.
Definitely do a plug check after the install. Rejet or tune as needed. Then enjoy!
