very simple, you may want to pick up a service manual-it pays for itself in no time,

One clamp and two bolts slide on the old and slide on the new.

It could be done with a crescent wrench. Get some wd40 or other penetrating oil to squirt in the joint, wiggle & remove. The most difficult part is not scratching your new mufflers by being inattentive. Did you know that HD considers the muffler clamps a "one use" item and recommends new ones be used? I've had my mufflers off several times, same clamps and no leaks.

Thanks for the response. I just picked up the service manual yesterday. Also checked w/ the deal for the install and they quoted me under two hundo for labor the installation of the slip ons, high flow a/c and SERT. Doesn't seem bad, but I do want to work on my own bike.

Don't forget to wipe your oily fingerprints off the mufflers with glass cleaner before you start it the first time and after what you've done what Hardtime said or else you'll forever kick your own @$$. And yes, doing it yourself is fun, and while you are at it install your own air cleaner.

That's the plan. I'll just have the dealer install the SERT. Thx for the tip on wiping off the fingerprints. I did read that somewhere.

Thanks for the advise. I just wanted to update you guys. I put the Rinehart Slip Ons and air cleaners. It finally sounds like a Harley. It was easy.
