Default flathead no numbers

Howdy gang,
I stumbled on a flathead 45 with no engine numbers. I am fairly confident that they were not ground off. The engine looks like it has never been mounted in a bike. There are no wear marks or even scuffs on the engine mounts, generator mounts, etc.. It has alloy heads and I haven't pulled a head yet to see if it's been run. No soot in the exhaust ports. I've been told that during the war some engines were not stamped. Any ideas, value etc.??
Thanks
fred

There is a lot of good and false info regarding NOS Harley parts.

I suspect the cases you have here might be war surplus. Many of the old WLA Harleys had unstamped bosses on the cases and this looks like it might be one.

Good luck and let us know what you find out about this. For more info on classic American motorcycles check out Classic American Iron.
