I am putting up my 1931 Harley V flathead motorcycle for sale for $15,000 firm.
This is not a stock or correct bike but is pretty much all genuine Harley and a very cool, strong running bike. A few facts about the motorcycle:
It is an easy start (usually 1 kick) and high compression (at least for an old Harley V flathead). Rare 3 speed and Reverse transmission and matching shifting gate. Newly laced wheels (one on V hub, one on nice star hub) with new Avon tires. Original paint front fender, correct dash, newer style Harley rear fender with tail light cowl, modified exhaust with correct Harley muffler, newer and recently rebuilt Linkert carburetor, good pogo seat.
This bike is as shown in the photo. Set up for Maxton Mile land speed racing, but could be brough back to street in less than a few minutes (simply remove the race plates and remove the home-made spring back throttle).
Strong running bike (thanks to previous owner's hot rod tricks) and to Dale Walksler and crew's race prepping the bike last year.
We made 5 passes with this bike at Maxton and set 5 class records. We clocked it over 75 mph and it runs strong, straight and dependably.
The rebuild and race was all documente din the pages of American Iron Magazine, and I'll throw in a set of the magazines with the article sin it to the buyer.
Would be great to ride on the street, race at Maxton Mile or even compete at events like the Pewter Run in New Hampshire.
Need to make room for the next project so I am offering this old classic race or street Harley for sale at $15,000 firm.
Sold with bill of sale, no title for machines this old in Connecticut.
