Here's a little video clip I did recently on how to start an old Harley V. The bike here is the project Racestoration 1931 Harley V we followed in American Iron Magazine last year and then took to Maxton for the Land Speed Races.

That is neat - something I have never seen before. I always assumed you also had to do something with the advance.

I drove a 24 Model T when I was in high school in 65 and I had to set the advance just right or she might kick back on you. People would just stop and watch when I would crank her. Those were the days.
