Question Threads

Seems a few threads have been pulled. Is there a reason for this? There were some good points made in a couple of those that were deleted. Now they can't be viewed for reference.

1996fatboy: Those threads that got pulled were "TRASH"! No sence in keeping them out there. They were tainted by some folks that really had no reason to be on this site. They did not like "US" and really had no valuable input except to cause some Hate and Discontent.

Curious though. What did you see that was worth keeping? Referenced for what? He said she said?

The administration pulled them because of the trolls.

Question what threads

Everyone that had something worth saying is still around. I still have lots of dumb questions to ask and maybe even a few mistakes to share. We won't miss those pulled threads.
cheers!

One that comes to mind is one that I started labeled Enough. There were posts from many of us that expressed our displeasure with the current rants on the forum. There are quite a few other posts out there that ended up being a pissing match and they are still viewable. It is not my intention to instigate a negative response, just wondered why.

Yeah. I agree. It did get oughta hand. I believe some house cleaning was done to get rid of the negative responses. A whole thread may have been wiped out due to a bad post.

If you still see ones that you feel should be cleaned up give ADMIN a shout.
Some good info may have been caught up with the action of the cyber broom. Yes, and some dirt always escapes the sweeper.

We saw what happened the last few months. Some bad Mojo. Hopefully we all learned and are prepared to not let it happen again.

Disagreements are fine. No two folks always think alike. Opinions differ. Its how we handle ourselves in a public forum. Now hop on that bike and go for a ride. Too dang cold for me. Still Sub zero here with the occasional "Black Ice".

I am not in favor of post deletions.. Even the ones that are totally against me in the most vitriolic manner..

I say nothing I'm ashamed of ever.. If there are rants or pissing matches or probs of any kind they should be in full view for all to see or refer to, if for no other reason than to show how it's NOT supposed to be done..

It's kinda like book burning or re-vising history..
We shouldn't be afraid of the written word.. And we cannot deny what's in the sunshine..

Very disappointing..

Thanks for the reply Joe. Not sure what makes those type of people tick but they sure have a knack for aggravating a situation that normally would have received a mediocre response. Anyhow, I just returned from a two hour 2-wheeled therapy session and at 33 degrees it was quite invigorating.

Take Care,

Frisco:

You have a point. "Freedom of speech!" But... Yeah I hate to say it! But...
This site is owned and operated by AIM. It is one of the Family orientated bike mags. No naked bodies, Dirty jokes or nasty letters with profanity. Has a diverse group of folks on it. There are rules and or agreements we are suppose to follow when we signed up. "Truthfully I didnt read what we is or is not suppose to do." I figured if I was somewhat civil I would be okay.

I was watching this site for a few months before I joined. If i saw the stuff that went on the last few months I would have chuckled a bit then lost interest. You had no Idea what was in a Thread until you started to read.
Potential interesting knowlegable"Cats & Kittens" we would have never met.
AIM as a company could have lost possible customers or advertisers.

Anyway you are correct. So what do we do?

I have an idea. Democracy at its finest. Have a poll and act on it.

A). Delete the threads in question & warn or Ban users that get out of hand.

B). Create a new Catagory lets say"Not for the weak" that Admin can move the threads in question too. Those that dont wanna be surprised or offended can pass over that Topic. Warn or Ban users that get out of hand.

c). Leave as is and just warn or ban the users

d). To the winds. Anything goes.

I dunno. I just hate to see anyone leave cuz a few good for nuttin A-holes whom decided their only purpose in life was to get on a site and harass users over their morning coffee or after their therapy appointment.

My belief. 1. If its Evil it must be destroyed. 2. If its good but done some Evil give it another chance. 3. If its down right good, "Well then yippie ki aye". 4. If its a goody goody ship it to California and set the state a drift

Hey Joe,, loved that song..

You did touch on a point that I am very much in agreement with.. It is this..

YES-- the owner of the establishment should be able to allow or dis-allow whatever he wants be it a bar, restaurant, mech shop, candy store, etc. etc.,, in this case AIM is that owner..

But, I can dis-agree with that decision,, yes..????

I'm all for banning those trolls, just not the posts..
