Red face I found a quarter that I can send.

So do we need to take up a collection, so that AIMag can put another quarter in the internet meter so we can stay online?

The AIM web page doesn’t keep going out on you, they were out last week several times, out most of sat or Sunday , did some maintenance first of the week, went out just a few moments ago.
If this keep up I will have to do some work, while I am here at work.

Feeling guilty for not doing anything when you can't catch up on the AIM forum?

You know it is hard work sitting here at my computer trying to look like I am working, chatting with you guys.
When the AIM site goes out, I don’t know what to do.

I was wondering why I hadn't heard any comments about the site being down until now. Not a word from the A.I.M. crew, are they in hiding.

I tried to get on Saturday and couldn't and thought it was my machine. That's the only probelm I've had.

Hey Admin, what's the deal?

Cool Admin Response

Well, for everybody's interest, aimag.com and the other sites on our web server were under a heavy SPAM attack for about two weeks. These SPAM dudes send out thousands of messages to us, and it eats up considerable server processor memory to handle this crap (which mostly means send the SPAM to the trash can). Every once in a while the server goes belly up so it can re-start. During that time other server processes kick in that send us thousands of internal emails saying something is wrong.

I have installed some tougher anti-SPAM programming to help defeat this nonsense. Unfortunately the wackos that program SPAM stuff are very good and are able to adjust to new methods to defeat our mechanisms. We should be OK for a while now, and for all of you it just shows up that we go offline every once in a while, but all servers from internet servers to the ones in your offices all go out from time to time. So, bottom line is -- I think I'm doing a damn good job, and you guys that like to complain are going to have to tell me precisely next time how to do my job better, since you Monday morning Quarterbacks seem to think you can (I am rarely surprised when I offer a challenge like this).
