Default LED Strip Lighting

Anyone here have any experience with the new high-tech LED strip lights? I saw an application of this technology on the rear of a Harley with the turn signals removed and the strip of LED lights installed in their place.

The LEDs on the left or right side of the 1/4 inch strip would flash as the turn blinkers and the person who did the install said they were very bright even in daylight.

I am considering this for a project bike but first want to hear from someone who has already done this.

I have not done this but a friend has.
They are not as noticeable as stock turn
signals in my opinion but can be seen fairly
well during the day and real well at night.
The only problem he has had was after a
year of riding, then getting dynod, the vibration
caused a couple of the solder joints between
the led's to crack, causing his lights to
have intermittent failures when riding.
It took me about 5 minutes to look at the strip
under a magnifier then re-solder the cracked joints,
no problems since.
