Default 02 sporty turn signals

Recently purchased a 02 sporty for my girl friend. The guy who had it chopped, lowered and racked it. Nice looking Sporty! He also added some aftermarket turn signals... I can not find a name on them and they will not blink. They come on while the thumb switch is depressed but will not blink. I believe they are not seeing enough volts... Any idea how much they should be getting and where would I install a voltage regulator? Thanks in advance.

Hey Ihbalio,

Can`t be certain without knowing what you have but most likely need to install a load equalizer. Check with the seller and see if can tell you what they are. If that doesn`t help search some of the on-line catalogs and try and identify them. The problem is caused by low draw lights being used in some of the custom signals. This is a common problem with LED lights. DO NOT INCREASE THE VOLTAGE. Load equalizers cost from 20 to 80 dollars so best to fid out what you need.

Default turn signals

Hey Ken,

Could be. Might not be wired right. Most elec stuff works on the FM principle.
F...Magic.

Ran into this before with Led lights. They just don`t draw much current. You have to pull enough to get the flasher to work. If the lights have bulbs like the ones the bike came with then the problem is elsewhere. Just a common problem with custom stuff.

Just reach out and wave your hand back and forth in front of the turn signal light. This will give it an illusion of blinking. Did you check em before you bought the bike?
