Default Harley running/brake light modification kit

I wash washing the sugar cane crap off of my bike from riding in wet weather recently and the chamois I was using dragged the lens off of my front right turn signal light. It fell on the concrete and, of course, landed right on one of the locking tabs that hold it in place breaking it completely off.
I used this opportunity to buy the HD running/brake light conversion kit that changes the rear turn signals to brake/turn signal lights and replaces the amber lenses to red lenses. That freed up two amber lenses to replace the broken one in the front with a spare if I ever break another one.
I plugged the module in and cut the ignition switch on and heard a sound from the module. It makes a constant hum that I can hear until I start the engine and then the Rush mufflers drown it out.
The lights work great. Brake lights work on three lights on the rear now and the signals work on both sides with the brake lights on.
Has anyone here done this conversion and does the control module buzz like this one on my bike. It's a pretty simple conversion and no way could anyone screw it up. Unplug the original harness and plug the module in to the harness. There's only one way it will fit and then swap out the lenses.
I'm just curious about the sound.

I put the module on my bike that converted the rear turn indicators to brake lights ( not the running lights). In my instructions it stated to unplug the Maxi-fuse before unplugging the wiring and installing the new module. I don't know if your bike has the maxi-fuse ( I'm on a sportster), but I don't have any buzzing at all

Thanks, I'll check on the maxi-fuse. I'm terrible about reading instructions. I figured I was just unplugging and replugging some wires with the ignition switch off. I really don't see how that could be different than disconnecting the battery. The lights don't operate until the switch is turned on.

I uninstalled the Running/brake conversion module with the battery disconnected and reinstalled it with the battery disconnected. Then I put my ear to the seat pan and discovered that the hum is actually the cheap Radio Shack siren that I had previously installed. I guess since it is hooked to the alarm circuit that chirps the siren and flashes the running lights it now has a pseudo ground somehow that buzzes it when power is applied to the system even with the alarm off.
Oh well, I'm going to run it like it is. I can't hear it after the Rush mufflers start up.
