| | They have little spark left if any and totally black .I have traced the wires from the coils and ignition and have found no cracks or bare wires at all.I use a premium fuel also and have reset mixture to ran a little leaner.

What Carb..??
What jets..??

If it was the ignition or coils it wouldn't run good for that day...

| | If the plugs are black when you pull them, the carb is running way too rich. If you look on the S&S web site they have a real sound procedure for how to jet a carb. It will get you very close and the basic process works for most any carb. Did you just get the bike? Have you had it awhile and it just started happening? Give us a history so we can help you out Bob, the weather is too nice to be wrenchin', it's time for ridin'.

Timing ?Carbs are not my best thing even in a food group.willing to learn. It just started this year toke bike out of house filled fluids started right away rode 3 days later replace plugs because missing then ran fine and so on.for 2 weeks and 4 sets of plugs. Thanks for input.

| | If it just started this year then it may not be the actual jetting. I am wondering if the enrichener (choke) may have something in it holding it open and allowing more fuel than necessary into the carb. That is a pretty easy check. just take the choke out where it threads in the top of the carb and check to make sure there is nothing in it that could hold it open. Hey Frisco, what do you think? Runs fine for 2 seasons and now rich?

| | Sure, that sounds like a great place to start, good call Soul...
I wish our new good friends that join and seek a lil assistance would include all info possible so it would be easier for us to assist... For instance that it ran good for two seasons and just started this new prob...
Lil Bob, may I suggest that it is time to make carbs/jets/timing part of your new food group... These devil machines require personal care so it's time to learn... For instance...
Find out what jets you're runnin and if your float is adjusted correct and the float needle/seat are clean and closing... A "not closing" needle and seat can create a rich condition...
BTW, did the accel pump setting get changed, those super E's pump a humongous stream and can really screw up good jetting job...

| | Lil Bob. Beside changing fluids and plugs did you do any tinkering or adding of parts over the winter? Upgrades of anykind?
You say the plugs are black? Are they wet also. Are you adding extra oil, Exhaust smoking a little more then before?
What is the color of your exhaust? After you warm it up good hit the throttle and see if it smokes and what color. The smoke will tell you if your burning to rich or burning oil.
