Default Sportster spits and sputters

I just bought a 2005 XL1200C sportster. I took it directly to the dealer for a full service and tune up. The problem i have is that when the bikes gets warmed up,it spits and sputters and tries to die unless i keep the rev's up. The dealer has put on new mufflers and rejetted the carb and also installed new manifold gaskets and a new diaphram and carb slide. The bike idles great and the sputtering starts just off idle. The bike runs perfect at higher rpm's and accellerates fine............Any idea whats going on guys?

He's a custom bike builder and probably didnt know the sporty could check itself. I havent wasted and money on parts really and he hasnt charged me anything at all for labor. He's a good friend of mine.I work on his computers and he works on my bike.......we kinda swap out.

My apology to your friend...saw your reference to "the dealer" a couple times in your original post and (uhhhh) conditioned reflex.....

1999 Sportster 883 backfires, shuts down after a few miles (engine is warmed). Does this 2 or 3 times then is fine for the remainder of a 30 or so mile ride. Sits for a couple hours then the same scenario. Have had the bank angle sensor replaced (at an H-D dealer-their diagnosis) did the same thing after a day or two, took it back, they replaced a cracked vacuum line on the carburetor inlet, same scenario again a day later! I've heard it could be the ignition module (was told it was discussed on this forum awhile back) The bike is not mine, it belongs to my nephew, was storing it for him and rode it for a month. Has 30,000 miles on the odometer. Any ideas? dealer hasn't figured it out yet!
Thanks,
Bud R.
