Today I ordered a new audio system for my 99 FLHT to replace the H-D tuner/cassette deck.Currently speeding its way towards me (via Pony Express) is a Sony Tuner/CD/MP3 player along with a Biketronics amp & mounting/wiring system & a set of their 6.5" Titan speakers. This setup (so I'm told) is a plug & play upgrade that utilizes the stock handlebar controls & still retains the AVC.Supposedly we're talking way more bass & much crisper sound & I'm looking forward to trying it.On a side note,I attempted to contact AIM to possibly shoot this install for an issue of the mag & never heard anything back.I guess this wasn't of interest to them, but I thought you guys might like to know how it goes so I'll keep you posted.
please do keep us posted, im looking for a sound upgrade to do in the off season on my 1996 flht.. as mine barely works as is ( i think it has to do with the bike being a standard, and one of the previous owners upgrading it with H-D stuff to make it a classic.) right now the only thing that works on my radio is the illumination and the clock

I received my package from Biketronics last Thursday and installed it after hours with the hope of riding downstate Friday after closing the shop. The packaging was damaged on the outside, but the contents were, thankfully, packed well & none the worse for wear. The individual components were all very impressive and obviously of high quality, the amp & the interface module were solid MADE IN AMERICA sealed units, the massive speakers were sourced from Italy & the head unit is a beautiful Sony deck (with more bells & whistles than even I need). The installation was 95% "plug & play" and the instructions were well written,so installing everything was fast & easy. The best part, though,is the wicked performance...crystal clear sound at any volume.I should be able to set off car alarms with my exhaust AND my stereo now!A slice of raisin pie to all the folks at Biketronics,if you're looking to upgrade your sound system look no farther.
P.S. Never did get to take the bike Friday, had to pick up parts.
Aw heck. I thought you were gonna tell me about horsepower and it's a stereo. Big power where it counts. I just know we're talking motors here and not braggin'.

ace- did you go with a kit, or buy everything piecemeal? i was lookin at their site today and i'm liking the price on the retro radio kit and for what it comes with it seems like a pretty good deal. does the bundle come with the 6.5" speakers or were those seperate? did you get BT's grilles as well? sorry for so many questions, i'm just seriously considering getting stuff from them and i just want to be fully informed when i pull the trigger.

I ordered the Sony GT630UI deck, the retro radio kit (model specific) the Titan 2 channel amp (I can only imagine what the four channel does for an Ultra) the Titan 6.5" speakers and the rainguard.Worth every penny.
