I believe the part number you are referring to is CE38A OR CE45A (38 amps vs 45 amps)
Unless you are running extra electrical accessories like lights, heated grips or clothing you don't need the extra amperage.
The kit you want is the CE32A or the CE32AP (new style connector-very nice)
As for the beer,I would normally request Bud,but they pissed me off when they sold out to the Belgians.
the kit # that I put down was for a kit that i found on axiom cycles for $117.00. That is why i asked about it. reg, stator and rotor. I thought it was an unbelievable price for a cycle electric kit. I cant find a 32 amp that cheap. If it will fit I will buy it for mine. bike will only use what it needs, right ?
Thanks, WGB

Wideglidebill,I have never installed one of the high output kits on anything other than what it was intended for.I'm fairly sure it can be done, but I would hate to say "absolutely" and have you run into problems.I'll call Cycle Electric & ask them tomorrow & I'll post the response here.
Thanks ace, I really appreciate the help. Since I last posted, I also found a kit for $107.00 from cycleware house, made by compu fire, says replaces oem 29957-81b. dont know if this will work, add says 81-99 big twin. DO you know the part number from harley for alternator kit?
The hi-output Cycle Electric kit won't work because it uses a late style regulator that is meant to mount on the front motor mount plate on FL models & would not be a bolt up on the Dyna, although Cycle Electric would be happy to build you a regulator that will work.
The Compu Fire is a direct bolt in for your application.
OK, first thing, thanks ace for checking that out.
WOW...what a wide variety of prices i found looking for these parts. And EBAY? what a joke, they all want top dollar prices for parts and when there is a decent bid, the people bid on it until they are paying stealer prices.
Sooooo, I ended up calling jireh and ordering the wild rider kit with everything needed. hope it holds up! it has the rotor w/incapsulated magnets. So now I wait 7 days.
could'nt afford the compu fire at 200.00 dollars.

ok, so i got the parts this morning and by 1030 i was out in the garage.
took a total of about half an hour and had everything apart. rotor good, so will put in parts pile, stator....not so good.. ya know the two insulated wires coming off the stator? that go to the connector? well one completely gone! I still might decide to try and fix this stator if thats all thats wrong with it. so, man that plug is a b@%#$ to get thru that hole. but thru that hole it is!
stator back in place and all the misc other parts and new rotor put back the way they came off. and chain is tightened. getting to hot so i put the primary cover back on and the two other covers to keep dust out and thats it for today. By the way, i didnt have to take off clutch or loosen any of the cables for the clutch. just loosened the chain tensioner and the hole front sprocket and everything just slipped off...Cool.
So, thats it for now, maybe it will be cooler sat., and i can finish up!
double checked w/ohm meter for shorts and the like and started her up! ckecked voltage at batt...almost 14 volts... I guess i am golden..took her for ride...aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh......bliss
anyhow, thanks guys, all of you again for the help and support, my first foray into my motor would, i am sure, not been near as easy without your help...I am as giddy as a school girl...I can ride!!!!!!!!!
