Electric blues.. shorted hey every one... i have a 77 fxe.. stock and now kickstart only. new handlebar wire harness, master brake cylinder, spark plugs along w/spark wires, coil, tach, and oil/neutral light indicators. Post changes... ran, stopped and kicked flawlessly. 2 days later it started cutting out frequently.. sputtering on takeoff. Also noticed a clicking sound eminating from circuit breaker that's responsible for rear break light.. yea.. i figured out quick i had a shorted wire... 45 min.s to get her back to my rookie garage (small/dinky). I traced wire to coil bracket... pinched and shorted. fixed that... engine still runs terrible.. figuring a fried ign. module and coil replaced that .. better butstill cuts out... isolated ignition system.. still not great.... can an ign system be damaged by one wire.... and how hot are coils supposed to be. well... thanks forany help you can give... replacing spark plug wires next.
