Default 1926 Harley JD

I pulled into a Bike Blessing last May on my 1926 JD Harley. I shut it off and pushed it into a parking space and set it up on the rear stand. A man and wife were standing beside their bike. The man asked me what year my bike was and I told him. His wife said "You probably push it more than you ride it". I never saw these people before in my life! I just looked at her and told her the bike runs just fine. And I walked away from them leaving them standing beside their red, white and blue Honda. LOL! You don't meet the nicest people on a Honda. When someone I know starts knocking the JD I tell them I will race any Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki or Kaw in the 1/4 mile and will give them a 1/2 track lead as long as their bike is a 1926. Of course they say Those bikes weren't made in 1926 and I say EXACTLY!!!

Very cool story. What is with people who have to knock someone else's bike? Does it make them feel superior? I'd say the exact opposite.

Could you please post a photo of your '26 here?

How often do you ride it and what kind of distances?

I ride the bike as often as I can. In '06 I put approximately 600 miles, '07 573 miles and in '08 I put on 430 miles. In '07 I put a digital mountain bike speed/odometer on the '26 so I could keep track of the mileage. I know the miles do not compare to what others put on their bikes. To me it is not the quantity of miles but the quality of miles.
