Default Future AIM Project Bike

We thought it would be fun for the forum members to share our projects with other members. We are proud and excited about these builds, so why not share them with others. We might get good ideas or even offers of help or parts as we share here.

I'll start it off with a bike I just bought, a used and modified 2006 Harley Street Rod. While most of the bikes I own and ride are a lot older, I am planning on making it a future project bike in American Iron Magazine. I'd lik to build it as a custom power cruiser.

Here's a photo of it the way I bought it. I rode it home and gave it a good top to bottom cleaning. After I took this photo I dried it off and gave it a nice coat of wax. It looks pretty good now.

So now that I am sharing one of mine here, how about sharing one of yours?

Default Retro Servicar-V-rod

Buzz I always thought it would be neat to do a V-rod, the way Harley would do a Servicar if they did a Retro.
Have the front basically stock, with some old mixed in, old head style headlight but slanted like the V-rod.
And on the box have it outlined with the tube type frame like the V-rod frame.
It would be pretty easy to do make the frame then make a fiberglass inset. Have the glass curve around the frame, so that the frame showed but was flush with the outside of the tubes.

So how's it going?

Is this V-Rod project bike in the works or did you pull the plug on it?

Not my kind of bike but always interested to see what you magazine guys can do with a bike.

I've been waiting to see an update on this one for months. Could've customized this thing into a space shuttle by now

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

You can't believe how frustrating this one has been.

We got the wheels, tires, exhaust, modified the seat and more. But no brake rotors. Every time we ask the manufacturer for an update he pushes us off another 60 days. This has been going on since February.

We finally gave up on the trick rotors and are moving ahead. Hope to have some progress in the next 30 days but don't expect to see it in print until something this Spring. But I can tell you it's going to be HOT!

I can't wait to get my hands on it, Buzz. It would have been nice to do this in the spring or summer, but I'll "sacrifice" and get it done in Jan/Feb for you!!

RJ with the new limited AHDRA schedule I may have some spare time if you want to dig real deep into that project. If the funding is available we can get some serious ponies out of it.

This is what the Street Rod looked like when I first bought it a year ago:

We have since replaced the wheels with something a lot lighter, changed the exhaust and modified the seat. Other stuff too, but you will have to wait to read about it.

Well, Elvis. It'll depend on what Buzz wants to do with this project. Good to see you on this board.
