Default starting the mock-up

Starting to mock-up my first attempt at building a bike.
here are the basics,
frame: 30 degree rake, no stretch
drivetrain: 110" engine, 6 speed trans, 3" open primary, chain final drive
wheels: 60 spoke, 21" front, 16" rear
bars: drag style, 3" rise
front end: 58mm inverted
brakes: front and rear disc, 4 piston calipers
still need to fabricate and mount the seat pan, oil filter mount, rear caliper mount, tank mounts, then measure lengths for all cables and lines.
i might try my hand at bending my brake lines out of stainless, think that would be a nice touch.
Just hope I can make my vision come to life.
This sure is going to be different than my current ride, '07 VRSCX.

Thumbs up looking good

I like the overall set up and stance it has. What kinda seat are ya thinking? Sissy bar? The rake on that front end looks sick! I like it alot. Its got that ridable bobber look. How wide is the back end? How long have you been working on it? Too many questions, I know.

Please keep us posted. It looks good.
cheers!

It looks like you are making great progress on it. There is nothing that looks better than a hardtail. That's gonna be a ride to be proud of.

Thanks for the compliments all.
I only started doing the mock-up last weekend. Been slowly buying parts for the last
6 weeks or so. Doing lots of research and picking friends brains during this time also.
I'm gonna mount a solo seat with dual Chopper Shox shocks, try to soften the ride a little, (getting older and don't know how much a beating my innards can take).
I may bend me up a short sissy bar up and over the sparto style taillight I'm mounting on the rear fender. Just as an accent piece.
I ended up getting a Kraft-tech frame. Added new holes to get rid of the engine offset and removed the fat-bob tank mounts.
Running a 200 rear tire (I'm not over the fat tire fad yet).
The motor is an El-Bruto by Ultima. Hopefully it's as good as everything I heard before I
bought it, hard to beat the price.
Frisco, if you don't sell the S&S anytime soon, or mount it in another build, I may be in touch about it, (it would be a couple a months at the earliest).
With any luck I'll post some more pictures in early April when my parts are back from paint and powder and I'm doing final assembly.

Sounds good bud, proud of you..

About that Sparto tail-light.. I dig em.. I was planning on using one of the larger lens units on one of the next builds..
I've seen them in a couple of my books but what I don't see are replacement lens.. In Jireh Cycles they offer a replacement lens for the small "Not Dot Approved" unit but no lens for the larger lens unit.. Gotta have access to replacement lens,, you know, they break once in awhile..
They have a great look and the larger unit is certainly large enough for blind cagers to see..
Which unit did you get.? Do you know of a place where the larger replacement lens are available.?

Frisco,
I went with the "Not Dot Approved" style but with LED's.
Hopefuly they will be bright enough to get noticed by cagers.
I have not stumbled across anywhere to get the extended style replacement lenses.
If I do I'll post it here.

Hey Super

Good to hear from you.. I was kinda wondering cuz of no updates..

I myself don't like those kinda pipes but whatever turns you on tickles the crap outa me..

The sissy bar looks exactly like what I run on both the shovel and the 120"..
Is it the Classic Chopper Style from Jireh Cycles.?
Very sturdy, perfect..

Keep on keepin on baby..!
