I feel great. The sunshine warmed up the area and I had a date with our staff photographer Bob Feather to shoot the finished 1948 "Crustoration" Panhead today. When we rolled the bike out of the storage area one of our staffers (admin, not editorial) asked if we were at least goignt o wash and wax it for the photos. We laughed and tried to explain to her that was the look we wanted. She didn't get it and went back into the office.
Because the plate had expired years ago we didn't wnwnt to ride it much on public roads, so we trucked it over tho where we wanted to photograph it. The bike fired right up after sitting for at least 2 months, smoked for a few minutes then sat there idling nicely.
I let it warm up, worked the foot clutch a few times to warm it up, slid the hand shifter into first gear and rolled on down the road. She ran great!
Here are a couple of photos to hold you over until the September issue of American Iron Magazine.
