Default heres a question for the old school chop gurus

I'm looking at a V twin replica wishbone frame, it comes with all factory mounts for floor boards, toolbox, ect. my question is what all should be cut off to make a classic late 60's chopper.

The V-Twin frames are very very close to original. Since most 60s choppers guys did what they wanted, so can you. Rake is up to you, but you can cut off all tabs and sidecar loops that you do not plan on using in your build.

Good luck.

Hey Kiss
Didn't you ask about this once before.?

Others may have totally diff and even GOOD experience with V-Twin but I have not..

Before mounting, I checked the V-Twin brand laced wheel I got from them and (if I remember kinda closely) it was .031"??? out in one run-out and .029"???? out in the other run-out direction.. Run-out is side-side and radial..
Since the measurements I found were almost exactly what the MoCo extreme tolerance is, they would not refund any shipping but they did refund purcahse price.. Brand new and it was already outa round.. And the weld to connect the rim ends was horrid..

I got some V-Twin brand 3* rake neck cups from them to De-rake a frame and they were sooo poorly machined they could not be used at all period..
There are a couple lesser items also but cannot remember them now..
That's my experience with V-Twin..---- Now, I buy nothing from them..
Soooo--
If their frames are built with the same care,, oh man,, I'd be fearful of them..

My suggest would be to look into Paughco or Hardbody by Mid-USA.. Their rigids are fairly close to Old Style and if you were going to cut stuff off anyway, heck, who'd know the diff..
I've run Paughco with no probs and among my buds,, Hardbody is excellant, I will try one next..
Atlas is crap, Rolling Thunder is also, at least the ones I've used are crap..

Yea Frisco, I sorta did, just decided to make it a seperate post to get attention, I mentioned it in my designing thread. I'll have to get a look at the Vtwin frame before I buy it, I've heard lots of good things but it only takes one bad to give me a headache sometimes. Cutting things off is more of a part of it thing for me so I want to start with a wishbone frame in full trim and cut as desired instead of wishing I had later.
