Default Forming Plexiglas for a windshield.

I remember someone saying they worked with Plexiglas; need to ask some questions about forming it.
I’m planning on making a Styrofoam plug, then making a fiberglass form to shape the windshield to.
It will wrap around like a Road Glide, and have compound curves.
Anyone here have any experience?

Wooden suction plug and a owen is the best. Or a hot air gun.

If you do a search on line you will find a couple of sites that describe how to make an oven to allow you to heat the plexiglass enough to make it form to a mold. It's not difficult but you have to have a steady temp to allow it to get soft enough to mold and not to much that it starts to warp the plex and distort the view as you look thru it. I used to bend plex in the sign shop I worked at but we mostly did 90 degree or angle bends with a electric heat rod. A heat gun won't allow you to heat the plex evenly enough to allow it to form properly.

Good luck on your project.
