Taking my 87 Lowrider apart and adding a 58 mm ultima front end, 16" mag style wheels, stretched tank and forward controls. I am sending the motor to Harley to be done under their EVO rebuild program and having the frame and other assorted parts powder coated. This won't be just a this winter project my goal is to have it done for the Reo Town bike show in Lansing MI in 2010. I would like to get it done sooner but I have to do the dad thing and my boss expects me to show up for work like almost every day. I need a job where I can work 24/7. 24 hours a week, 7 months a year.

Totally cool....to put your private stash where it belongs, out from the elements and/or in a toasty corner of a room! Someone mentioned that it's best to get priorities straight, from the get-go? 10-4, rubber-duck, my "ongoing" 48 panchop (going on 5yrs now) has evolved (some might say devolved)....from the bedroom, to storage room to finally the garage. Here's a pic of the "bedroom stage"....oh, almost forgot....one of my earlier phases included the kitchen table, assembling a mechanical front brake & then onto the star hub...or the time the 47 knuck springer assembly arrived from Austria (pieces) & subsequent re-assembly on the carpeted bedroom floor!!It's all in compromises (battles) you can/cannot win i.e. totally surrender all rights to closet spaces & you have "squatters" rights in & around the house (part-time basis)...you don't want to push the limits, right? Remember their is quality space under the bed! Basically, at the end of the day...you(s) have to sleep together (ideal scernerio), w/your significant other (includes fringed benefits)....so start gathering your parts boxes & BUILD!!

Qick pic, of the latest. All began w/watching a "b" movie, 5yrs ago (do they call them cult classics now?)...whatever, titled "The Wild Angels". Got severily blotoe'd, w/the ole lady close at hand & recalled the earlier dayzz...like far-out, man! Growing up in the 60's (dating myself), was cool...seeing the chops blasting down roads & highways....all this, from the backseat of the folks station-wagon, of course. Amazing, the nostalgia bug...when it hits, it's deadly. All I'm thinking now, is CCR on the mp3 & the "knees-in-the-breeze, being my only disease"....as the avons point down the road! For now, weekend project is the upper motor mount & manifold setup...RIDE FREE!!

I have such a big list...

I want to get headlight and tail light modulators

I need to pull off the fairing and reroute and secure some wires that have fallen out.

The radio antenna wire is crushed in half so I need to replace that and the antenna base. Why I am worried about an old AM/FM/cassette I'll never know.

I need to replace the heel shift. The owner before me didn't have one on and the shift linkage going into the primary is loose as a goose. They actually JB Welded on a 3/8th drive socket on the end of the shift rod. #$*&($##$&(

Also while I am in the front end I want to make sure the front fork bearings are OK. It sorta pops when I front brake. Also, I am thinking the air line on the forks is damaged.

Sorta lot to do up front. I am going to spend the next 10 months getting ready for Sturgis. This will be my first time going on a Harley! Whoo hooo!

PS I hate hacks that just duct tape repairs and don't have pride in their craftsmanship.

well lets see, winter projects....hhhmmmm....well, here in the low deserts of southern california, i am riding my bike!!!!!i think it was like 80 degrees here today and sunny. started clouding up a bit by 1600hrs.hopefully i will have no problems with my bike. I do have to take off pipes and fix rear pipe mount that keeps moving on me. mount moves and gets up against rear brake resovoir and causes a vibration throughout the bike. so thats it. thats all i have to do but ride, ride, ride
