Talking Fatbone.

Just finished getting my Crossbone back on the road after having issues with a large dog on a back country road not far from home. I wasn't hurt bad. But the bike didn't fare as well. The old boy who's yard I ended up in was sitting on his front porch. And I think it scared him worse than me. First words out of his mouth were....."Holly Jesus boy....You OK? I sure thought you were a dead man. I ain't seen that good a save since I took my kids to see the Whiterock Enduro years ago." My reply..... "Heck mister, I was probably riding in that enduro! Er.....Yup I'm Ok....I think. Would ya help me get her up."

Any way.....Here she is.....Sorry the photo isn't very good. I had just finished her and it was drizzling outside, she needs a bath . But I had to document the occassion.

Nice bike, love the color. I have a hard time getting past the fact that you can paint a Harley any other color than black;-)
Do you have any photos while you were putting it together?
As for the photos, I always host mine on Photobucket. They automatically downsize to any size that you want, and they show up much larger.
I use the 17 inch screen size.
And nice to see you posting, welcome to the Harley zoo.

Thanks. But the picyures of the build were taken with the cell phone and aren't very good. Bad lighting in the garage you know. Black is the one color that doesn't do much for me usually. I tell you what, you sure learn alot when you do this sort of thing. Bought the gas tank used online. Not knowing that H.D. had changed the fuel pump/sending unit arrangement in the tank. And got a earlier injected tank. But I sectioned my original dented tank. Ground the welds for the bracket from the underside to free it from the tank bottom. Ground the welds to the bracket on the older tank from above to save the tank bottom. And spot welded the 08 bracket into the earlier tank. Everything mounted up just fine and seems to be working great. I paid $50.00 for the earlier tank and was determined to make it work once I discovered my mistake. Nothing like being bull headed.

Great job dc4stroke. What part of Arkansas are you in? Looks alike a great riding area just by the hill in the background.

Thanks, I'm in Crawford county (NW). And yes the riding is great here. Took the bike out today for a shakedown cruise. The day was bright but a little chilly. Had 2 issues. I didn't get the door to the fuel pump seald good and had a fuel leak. A 5 minute fix. And the fuel gauge was iffy. I've never had one before, I'll get around to tracking it down later. I think I may have gotten the bracket inside the tank just a hair off and the float may be rubbing or a loose connection. Neither one that hard to fix. But it will be a few days before I get around to looking at it. I have to go to Little Rock to take my dad in for a little minor surgery. Took more pictures while out riding today. It was on one of these stops that I discovered the fuel leak. So I stopped often and looked things over.

That has to be one of the coolest looking Bones I've seen. The color is great. Totally dig the pics of the bike and the planes.

Thanks folks. I had this build in mind when I bought the Bones. It just happened sooner than I imagined. Thanks to a large dog in a curve.
