Re: Letters: Harley?s Demographics I'm not one to do this sort of thing(I purchased my first computer only 4 months ago),but I liked the article on "touring the ozarks" by Robert M. McQueary.I'm not throwing a sales pitch but It does surprise me how little people know about the riding season here. You see,If Mr. McQ talked to enough people,he's heard the old saying if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it'll change.Prime example,in mid Dec. Rodney's cycle shack did a toy run.If memory serves me right I think it was around 60-65F.One week in Jan. you need sweaters and longjohns.Next week short sleeves and tank tops.I may be down for two weeks but the weather is seldomly persistant,so I know I'll be back riding in no time.
The other thing is the senery.I see it every day and sometimes I get acustomed to it ,but thanks to Mr.McQ, I get reminded and remember to slow down and look around at what we have here.
Mr.McQ,when you cruise thru Arkansas (esp. Hot SPrings going south to Arkadelphia,or if you come out for Backwoods Boogie,in May)find Arkansas Hwy. 128 off of Hwy 290.You will not be dissapointed.
Until then ,Ride on & write on! |
